At long last, we have a chai scent we're happy with! This chai is a thick and smoky black tea with milk, clove, green cardamom pods, star anise, and just enough sugar to ameliorate the bitterness of the tea. Mostly. We like a little bitterness to throw sweetness into sharp relief.

Smoky, dark, earthen, with a hint of herbal freshness and sweet sugar.
In a word, smells like tea.
The good stuff, not that cheap rubbish that comes in little disposable paper bags.
I want to drink myself now. Very confusing.

Seriously. This is the first perfume I have ever worn that has attracted my perfume-hating spouse.
You guys have my love forever and ever.
Also, it's yummy! This scent really does capture a spice-heavy chai mix, complete with a hint of tannic black tea. I delight in opening the bottle during stressful times, and inhaling deeply.

...and sweet. In the bottle, Spicy Chai smoky tea. On me, black pepper and smoke.
Twenty minutes later, I got a whiff of the spiciness I smelled in the bottle, and then it faded gently away. I reapplied and tried it again because I really wanted it to stay longer, but alas, same result. Interesting, spicy, smoky, ephemeral. Daily wear is not meant to be unless I use a locket.
But you gave it five stars again! A habit, I know. I did so, because it can be used in scent lockets, scent warmers, and a drop in a spritzer with water for a bit of happiness in a room. My wee one wants to try it in the warmer for bed because it smells yummy.
Lovely as always, but squee's for me.

This was a happy accident in my order, but i had been looking at this one for awhile, so it works out.
I love spicy scents. Love anise more than most sane people. And chai tea is my favorite warm drink.
I think, because of the amount of chai tea i have had, i expected this scent to be identical to it (eg- creamier, mainly spice, with tea as a back end).
This scent is all tea on me. While, if i get my nose right up on it, i can pick out all the spices; this smells oddly floral on me at around an arm's width away.
It's a very well rounded scent, and while the spices are there, it never has that "warm" feeling on me that most spice blends have. Which is refreshing, but i've become so used to SPICE SPICE SPICE that my body amps that i was oddly let down.
So, for those of you who wish you could wear spiced scents but frequently get ONLY the spice, this will work wonderfully for you as you still get the spices but they're supporting players in this one. For those that are looking for the SPICE IN YOUR FACE scent, this isn't yours.
It really is a lovely blend and will work well on many people, but it just isn't for me. I keep sniffing myself, and it smells fabulous, but it doesn't smell like *me*. I feel bad about giving it 3 stars, because the blending is on an 11 star level.
Basically, i'm a Doc Marten's and funny t-shirt type of gal and this is a beautiful couture dress. While i wish it was for me, it's just not.

This one is all about the tea. It starts off as the most delicious smoky black tea, with just a drop of milk and pinch of sugar to mellow it. As it settles, the chai spices and sweetness come out a bit more for a richer scent, though the black tea is definitely still there. I can pick out the ginger, cardamom, and what might be black pepper. It also starts to smell more like a perfume, and less like the best afternoon cup of tea ever. (I'm a fan of tea, so I'm happy with either one!) Overall, a very nice scent.
My only complaint about this one is that it fades extremely quickly, even when I use a lot. I've only been able to get at most two hours out of this one so far.

Very dark and dry and spicy and sexy. Lots of cardamom and tea. I want to smell like this all the time! My only criticism is that on me, it doesn't have an awful lot of throw. Guess I'll just have to use more...
