One of our customers made a request for the scent of a loved one's jet fuel-scented work clothes mixed with the sugar cookies she likes to bake, and we could not possibly refuse.
A little bit of background: the SR-71, a super high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft commonly called the Blackbird, is in our humble opinion one of the most delicious pieces of military hardware ever built. Go and have a look. It also holds the speed record for ANY manned terrestrial aircraft, at 2193.2 mph. The space shuttle on re-entry is the only manned craft clocked faster, and that so doesn't count.
There are no SR-71s flying today, but they're just so chock-full of charisma that we had to draft one into service for us anyway. And then we loaded it up with some cookies and told it to get moving.
A sweet and subtle butter-pastry base, topped with vanilla sugar and a dollop of Jet A. (no actual avgas involved, we promise.)

My daughter says "What's that smell?"
"That smell like rice crunchy treats?"
"Rice krispy treats?"
"Yeah. That smell."
"Is it me?" I hold out my wrist for her to sniff
"Yeah! Mm...how you smell like that? You smell like rice crunchy treats at the gas station!"
That pretty much sums it up.

When I was pregnant, I craved the smell of gasoline. It was horrible, because it was completely insatiable. The minute I stopped smelling it, I'd want to smell it some more. I actually had to limit the number of times allowed myself to stick my nose in the gas tank every day.
Unlike most of my pregnancy cravings, this one didn't entirely go away. It's not as bad as it was, but I still love the smell of gasoline. So I was hoping this would be a sweet bakery scent with a little hint of gas to it.
Unfortunately, it's a sweet bakery smell with more than a hint of burning rubber to it. Maybe that is how jet fuel smells, not my area of expertise, but it wasn't what I'd expected and after the first wearing, where the sweet wore off rather quickly and left me smelling like tires on a runway, I put it in my giveaway pile.
However, I found myself thinking about the smell and kind of wanting to smell it again whenever I'd see the bottle so I gave it another chance. And decided, burning rubber and all, I kind of liked it. I might even say I craved it, a little bit. So it gets two paws up from me!

Zomg, I'm in love with this scent! Sweet, subtle, sensual, and so very me. Added to my Christmas list for friends and family.

I bought this as a Squee! and will definitely be buying it in a bottle! I love the smell: the sweetness of the 'bakery' scent is perfectly offset by the touch of oil, keeping the scent from tipping over into too-sweet territory. The longer I wear it for, the better it smells.

It smelled like delicious baked goods, and I really did like it...unfortunately, it went from delicious cake to outta nowhere rubber/gas smelling for me! It faded back to baked goods with a jet fuel undertone later, and my friend claimed to have not smelled the rubber/gas I was smelling earlier at all, so it might have just been me. Even if it wasn't, it didn't last too long and overall the smell was really delightful and sweet, so I can find it in my heart to forgive it.

This smells as though I'm downstairs in my father's workshop while he's mixing up jet fuel for his newest airplane while my mother bakes my favorite treats.
My parents actually both love this scent as well, when I excitedly showed them I'd bought SR-71 themed perfume.
Just as advertised, this makes me absurdly happy

I got this as a sample squee, and expected it to be somewhat scented like cookies, not an entire bakery! The background note of 'jet fuel' is very dry and subtle, and in no way interferes with the deliciousness of the sugary, baked goodness, which ended up just getting stronger on me, but not so much that I had to wash it off to lessen the scent. My husband REALLY liked it, and he doesn't often have many remarks regarding my perfume fixations. If you like the scent of sweet, freshly baked ANYTHING, this is for you.
