Product Description

Comet Swift-Tuttle, also known as 109P/Swift-Tuttle, is the parent body of our beloved Perseids — one of the most faithful meteor showers out there, if you really need to go watch some meteors in the bath. People have been observing the Perseids for at least the past 2000 years, so why shouldn't you enjoy them too? Space debris, flaming across the sky!

The earliest report of the Perseids comes from the Far East, but everyone gets to see them, so we pulled our notes from all over the globe. Balsam of Peru, frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood, sweet musk and vanilla combine to form a rich, dark scent that reminds us of summer nights spent watching the velvety depths of space, while bright mint lifts it higher and adds some sparkle to that sky.

  1. Warm ambery vanilla 5 Star Review

Posted by on 10th Feb 2015

This has got to be my favourite! The slightly-flowery mint disappears on my skin in about... ooh, 60 seconds flat. Leaving the yummiest, warm amber, sticky vanilla smell. It's not a sweety vanilla, but a rich, slightly resiny incense smell. I love it!
The name is a little more problematic in the UK... All my friends know Swift-Tuttle, but we don't really use the word 'butt' in the UK (we use 'bum' or 'bottom' instead)... so it comes out something like 'What are you wearing?', 'Oh, Swift-Tuttle's shiny, but...' It leaves them expecting a punchline, like 'Swift-Tuttle's shiny... but you should see the Leonids on a balmy night on the Cornwall moors...'

  2. Mint toothpaste + cake afterwards = Catholic guilt 2 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Aug 2014

Oddly, I can only think of minty toothpaste and cake. It makes me think of eating cake, right after having already brushed my teeth in the evening — the weird taste and guilt associated with such an experience turns me off of this scent entirely. Sorry, but not for me!

  3. Spices and patchouli 2 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Aug 2014

Pine upon first application. Star anise, patchouli, and jasmine come next. Orange black tea seems an afterthought. The patchouli is a bit much, almost brings a smokey minty scent. (But, I tend to not like patchouli, so I would recommend it to those who like both patchouli and spicy scents.)
