Product Description

The Queen's Cup: a concoction of gently spiced roast cacao and aged whale fat, i.e. ambergris. We didn't make it up, chocolate ambré is a real thing and was considered a magnificent restorative beverage for aristocratic sorts feeling a bit run down by life.

Our take on this queenly pick-me-up: two kinds of bittersweet chocolate, ambergris, and a speck of fruity pink pepper.

History note: while it's likely that Marie Antoinette herself liked this stuff, given that its heyday and hers coincided, we haven't found any specific record of it. Nevertheless, this scent is inspired by her and named for her, mostly because of these marvelous cups fashioned as a gift:

That is, shall-we-say, the Queen's Cup. And a fine one it is, perfect for a sip of something warm and comforting. We don't want to get all creepy about it, we just really liked the pun. Forgive us. :)

  1. Sweet 4 Star Review

I got this as my random, so I had no idea when I opened it what it was supposed to smell like. In the bottle, I thought it was a gingerbread-type deal, then I put it on and it mellowed out and I could smell chocolate. There's no spicy on my skin at all, just light and sweet chocolate.

  2. Soooo nice on a cool day 5 Star Review

At first, when I opened the bottle, I wasn't sure if I liked the scent very much. But that was on a warm day. Now that it's chilly out it smells absolutely wonderful!I can't stop smelling my wrist!
I'm not too familiar with pink pepper, but I did pick up on the cocoa, a little bit of cocoanut in the background, and something like a deep, throaty vanilla. There is also a bit of spice.

  3. Wearable and not cloying 4 Star Review

Chocolate scents tend to be a trainwreck on me, but this one is so sophisticated. It's not sweet, just rich and beautiful.

  4. A soft sweet scent! 4 Star Review

When I look at the picture of the girl for Tasse de la Reine in the blue dress, this scent would smell like her!Like she is wearing this perfume sitting outside in the morning, birds chirping and sipping a cup of hot cocoa. Its a soft, chocolatey scent with hints of sweetness and spice. It wears close to the skin.Very pretty.
