Ariel loves tom kha gai. It's a Thai soup that combines some of the best things in the world into one bowl: coconut milk, limes, ginger, fish sauce, mushrooms, chicken, chilies, et cetera...and it is so immensely beautiful in the mouth that it seemed a perfume of it must be just as beautiful.
So there was nothing for it but to to leave out all the stuff that makes a brilliant soup but a terrible perfume, and voila!
(Yes, that does mean we left out the chicken and fish, so it's vegetarian. There are also no chilies in it because we don't want to, you know, burn your flesh.)
(This item is a 5ml bottle.)

This scent is my go-to for day wear. It is light and clean but has good float, and it has a kind of energy that keeps me moving. Yes, it smells like Thai food but in a very positive, perfume-ie way.

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect with this scent. Coconut and lime are both smells I love, but I've generally experienced them as part of sweeter scents. This scent is definitely not sweet or dessert-y at all. As soon as I opened the bottle, I had the unmistakable impression of Thai food. One of the notes, maybe the ginger or lemongrass, came off a little sharp and artificial, but it was otherwise very nice. It smells almost exactly like a a Thai red curry. Although I like Thai food very much, I wasn't initially sure that was something I wanted to smell like. After it had been on for a while, some of the sharper notes calmed down and it got a little sweeter (although not dessert like at all) and more mellow. The overall impression was vaguely herbal, almost like I had rubbed coconut, limes, basil, and ginger on my skin. At times the coconut didn't quite smell fresh to me; it was more like the smell of a can of coconut milk than a fresh coconut, but this is a minor complaint. I would describe the scent overall as a little "weird", bust mostly in a good way. I would recommend it as long as you are a little adventurous. This was a very new kind of scent for me, but I ended up enjoying it.

Coconut, lime, lemongrass, warm but not too sweet. It really does smell almost exactly like the soup. Wonderful smell, although not precisely what I look for in a perfume. It would make me hungry to wear it, and the lemongrass was a little strong on me while the coconut faded too much.
